Upcoming: Miller Theatre Previews Suzanne Farrin's Opera ~ Macabéa ~

On Thursday, October 29th, 2026, the Miller Theatre's Composer Portrait series will present the Concert Premiere of Macabéa, a new opera by Suzanne Farrin. Inspired by Clarice Lispector’s final novel, The Hour of the Star, the work contrasts the conflicting forces of poverty and power. The program features the Talea Ensemble, and provides an exclusive preview of the opera’s full premiere in Brazil in 2028.
