~ Thinking of Christa ~
Listening to Christa Ludwig yesterday evening singing Wagner, Brahms, Beethoven, and Mahler was deeply moving. I was so fortunate to have seen her as Octavian, the Dyer's Wife, Fricka, Klytemnestra, and the Berlioz Dido as well as in recital.
Above: a message she sent me after I'd sent her a letter thanking her for all her beautiful singing over the years, and wishing her a happy retirement.
